International Women's Day

Historically, women were treated less human than men were. We have come a long way in society. We've had to fight tooth and nail to create a voice. I can't speak for other women but I'm happy Jesus made me a woman.

To all the women: You are amazing, built to be kind, gentle, and overall sensitive. We are strong but meek at the same time designed by God. Our physical appearance in itself is beautiful and elegant.

I love the Bible for exposing how Jesus edifies women throughout the old and new testaments. Throughout the old testament, God used women many times for His Glory. Women in the Bible are amazing, brave, devoted to God.

In the Bible, Jesus refers to the church body in comparison to a woman when He says "Bride of Christ." One time, I heard it preached that the Proverbs 31 woman - was really referring to the Church. I loved the way that this preacher explained how the Lord revealed this to him. Read Proverbs 31 notice how it very well could be a reference for the Church Body as well.

Let's discuss some of the times that Jesus used women in the Gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John:

  1. Jesus was born of a young woman who was a virgin. The Lord placed a baby in her belly. This baby was said to be the Messiah, the savior of the whole world. In the old testament, it was prophesied that Jesus would come. Mary birthed Jesus and raised Him. She knew the Lord's assignment on her life and she trusted Him. (Luke 1:26-35)

  2. The first miracle Jesus performed was at the request of Mary. At a wedding celebration, He turned water into wine. (John 2:1-10)

  3. When Jesus was at the well, He revealed Himself as the Messiah to a woman (of Samaria) fetching water from the well. (John 4:6-29)

  4. Women were included as His Disciples. (Luke 8:1-3; Mark 15:40-42; Luke 24:1-4, 10; if you find anymore scriptures that may bring this forth you can post in comments section)

  5. After His resurrection, Jesus first appears to a woman. (John 20-11-18; Mark 16; Matthew 28)

Favour [is] deceitful, and beauty [is] vain: [but] a woman [that] feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
— Proverbs 31:30-31
God [is] in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, [and that] right early.
— Psalms 46:5
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price [is] far above rubies.
— Proverbs 31:10

God Loves Men and Women alike. He has a purpose for each and everyone of us.

Happy Women's Day.
