The Devil's Agenda: Divide and Conquer

3 Ways the devil can divide and conquer

The Bible tells us that he never sleeps and is always working to discourage followers of Christ. He doesn’t want anyone to glorify God in any way.

His main objective is to Divide and Conquer.

He first starts by dividing you singularly and then works through your network of friends and family.

1. The devil can divide you from yourself

How is that possible?

We are created to praise and worship Jesus Christ as the Almighty God that He is. He created all things and through Him we receive the greatest blessings.

People who are double minded and who have one foot in the church and one foot in the world, are divided from themselves.

James 1:8 - A double minded man is unstable in all his ways

Matthew 6:24 - No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

The devil can plant bad seeds and can deceive you with your own thoughts. Once he plants those seeds he can test you in your weaknesses. All he has to do is get you to believe one of his half-truth lies. Once he has you offended, emotional, hateful, and jealous he has divided you from who Jesus intended for you to be. Now the devil has you divided and he can now work to conquer you.

2. The devil can divide you from the Body of Christ

He has in the past, and will continue to try to use your brothers and sisters against you to divide you from the body of Christ.

“Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
— 1 Peter 5:8

Satan can conquer you when you hate your brothers and sisters. He conquers you when you stop attending church. He conquers you when you allow bitterness to set in. Bitterness is where unforgiveness is born. Forgive quickly and often so that Jesus can forgive you quickly and often.

Don’t allow him to use an attractive person to divide you from your spouse. This leads you down a path of sin. Looking at the divorce rate statistics everyone is aware that divorce has significantly increased over the last 50 years. The devil is able to use the things of this world to divide you from the person Jesus blessed you with. When you feel unable to be happy in your marriage - fight that feeling with all that you have. Do whatever it takes to save your marriage. You do not want the devil to have a victory in your divorce.

Ephesians 6:12 let's us know that our only enemy is the devil. The people that come against us seemingly full of hatred they are influenced of the devil. He will use whoever he can to get to you. If you see someone angry with you, talking badly about you, or just not being who Jesus called them to be - we need to take a minute to pray for these individuals. We don't know what the devil is putting them through.

3. The devil can conquer you when you turn your back on God using Doubt

If we allow satan to confuse us into thinking that Jesus isn’t there for us we will feel a space between ourselves and Jesus. Jesus is always there for you. He is your first love. The only one you can trust with everything.

Don’t let it get to this point. No matter what the situation is. Always seek Godly counsel. Always pray and wait for the Lord to lead, guide, and direct you. Let His will be done in your life, not your own will.

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
— Romans 12:21

The Bible say to lean not on our own understanding and to Trust God in all of His perfect ways. No matter what is coming against you, God is standing beside you. He is there to keep you encouraged, to protect you and to show you that He is bigger than any problems the devil may bring your way. God is greater than all things.

When our faith is in Jesus, satan has no power over us.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
— John 8:44
