Jesus Wept
“Jesus Wept” is known to be the shortest verse in the Bible. This puts emphasis on it so that we examine it in its entirety.
Putting it into context, prior to getting to this part the scripture states: “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” (John 11:25-26)
He loved Lazarus but he was not weeping regarding Lazarus’ death but in this moment he weeped bc of the grief that was on the family and also because he saw that they struggled to trust him completely. They even tried to place blame on Jesus saying had he arrived sooner Lazarus wouldn’t have passed.
They were putting limits on God. How many times in our lives have we put God in a box or have we limited his abilities with our faithless imaginations?
He wept.
He weeps for us when we struggle to trust him. God is ALL POWERFUL, MIGHTY, OUR HEALER, OUR FATHER, OUR STRENGTH, JOY AND LOVE. OUR EVERYTHING. He is the one true living God, the creator of all things in existence. Instead of serving him to see what he can do, understand that there is nothing he can’t do.
Faith the size of a mustard seed allows you to speak to the problems in your life and they will be no more. He raised Lazarus from the dead and he was right on time, bc of this miracle he performed he raised faith and showed who he is to all those that were there.
Worship and praise God all of the days of your life for he loves you and he weeps for you when you are not trusting in him. He loves you so much more than you’ll ever know. Pray that he shows you how he sees you. Pray that you’re able to understand the love he has for you even more every day and whatever you do don’t lean on your own understanding.
God does what he does and it is amazing and exciting and it all works out for the good of those who are in Christ Jesus. Be in Christ Jesus as a whole.
